Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip quick review + swatches

I just recently purchased the Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip value set and since it is a limited edition set + on the pricier side I thought it would be a great idea to give you guys a quick review on the box as a whole and give you a bit more info that will either want to make you buy it or do the exact opposite.

NOTE: I will not be giving an in dept review on the actual products, because the post will be too long and i'm talking about the value set as a whole. Also since some of them are similar in size to samples I did not fully swatch every single product, because I didn't want to waste it. All pictures are taken with natural light and the color/swatches were untouched/unedited.

WHAT IS IT AND HOW MUCH
  • 17 piece lip sampler set
  • what I can conclude as the hottest lip items of the year
  • It cost $59.00 w/o tax (free shipping bc over $50)
  • $192 value

BOX DESIGN

The box design in my opinion is really pretty and quite chic. It has what is included in the box in the front. If you flip the box to the back side you get each item's name and ingredients/size. The font is a bit harder to read, because of the gold backing+the smaller font, but you can still read it. Opening the box was easy, but getting the products out was a bit hard. I had to pull out the inside and pop it out from the back.

PRODUCTS

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Palomino (vibrant magenta) is 0.07 oz. The size is pretty good and i'm quite happy that this was included, because I've heard very good things. It was quite pigmented from the first swatch.

Benefit Cosmetics Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm in Posie is 0.01 oz. This is freakin pathetic.....before you say anything..no I haven't used this product yet..it literally comes with that much. Such a disappointment, because I really wanted to try this product out. I honestly rather have a duplicate lip product of something in the box than this. Oh well at least it's something to try. Packaging is super cute and it's a tinted lip balm so pigmentation isn't all that crazy. I only swatched it once, because I felt like if I swatched it anymore it would be gone.

Too Faced Cosmetics Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick in Fuchsia is 0.16 oz. The size of this product is pretty good, nothing to complain about. Packaging is somewhat similar to the Etude House Rosy Tint Lips, but this one is a lot easier to squeeze. I don't know which one I like more, but if you guys would like a comparison review on both items let me know down in the comments. I wish they would of given a darker shade, but I don't mind this color and I think this is a bit safer as a color choice, because a lot more people wear this shade than a dark vampy lip.

Tarte LipSurgence Power Pigment in Flush is 0.04 oz. The size again is a pretty good size. Packaging is adorable and easy to use. The color is cute so hopefully the formula is as great as the packaging haha.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Waterproof Lip Liner Pencil is 0.018 oz. I've never used a lip liner before so I don't have much to say about this. Pigmentation was really good and it's such a perfect shade for those who want to try a darker color, but is afraid to go for the purples/wine etc colors.

Too Faced Cosmetics La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream in Naked Dolly is 0.05 oz. Size is actually decent and i'm in love with the packaging. Simple, but it's super sleek (?) looking idk and it looks pretty fancy to me, because of the gold HAHA. I did a light swatch of this, but it is build-able (sp? omfg). It's a pretty pinkish nude so i'm really excited to use this.

BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie™ Lipstick in Speak Your Mind (bubble gum pink) is 0.05 oz. Again size is actually pretty good and I had no problem with the packaging. Color is pretty pink similar to the too faced one, but a bit more on the pinker side. A "safe" color choice aka nothing too crazy/daring.

Laura Mercier Lip Glacé in Blush (medium rose brown) is 0.09 oz. Size is good and the packaging is nice as well. The applicator is easy to use and the color is a blush with more of a brown tint. From the first swatch it wasn't sticky so I have high hopes for this. I think it would look nice on top of one of the two lipsticks that I talked about before this one or just by itself.

Stila Stay All Day® Vinyl Lip Gloss in Nude Vinyl (medium pink nude) is 0.04 oz. Size is again pretty good (i'm pretty sure you're tired of reading this) and applicator is one of the easiest I ever used and it is sturdy (does that even make sense?). Pigmentation is crazy and i'm super pleased with it. This color is similar to the NYX soft matte lip creme I own so i'm kinda excited to see how I like this one.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon is 0.03 oz. The size is good, but if I wanted to be picky I would say it will be a bit harder to hold the applicator because of the size and shape of it...but that's just me trying to be picky about it. (Nothing is wrong with it honestly, but yeah) The color is beautiful!!! It swatched a bit lighter than what I thought, but maybe it's because I did one swatch? It's almost a true brick red and I absolutely adore this liquid lipstick (which is pretty much a gloss tbh to me) so far.

Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Red Armour is 0.07 oz. Packaging is kinda boring..it's just this black rectangle and I know it doesn't really matter how the package looks, because we buy it for the product itself..but I just wanted you to know my opinion about it LOL. Color is a red, but almost on a muted side compared to the hourglass one I talked about. I didn't swatch it a lot so maybe the color is build-able and can be a bit brighter than the swatch.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw  is 0.10 oz. This is a very generous size to be quite honest, love it. Packaging is the typical Kat Von D packaging and I think it's pretty, although I prefer gold over silver for makeup packaging (that is a preference thing and a small fact you just learned about me (; hehe). Pigmentation is amazing and it's a true red (I think?), gorgeous.

Sephora Collection Rouge Infusion in 10 Red Essence is 0.068 oz. This is a pretty good size as well (or the package is just really big) and I really do enjoy the applicator brush. Color is a darker red and a bit more vampy compared to the other gloss type products I've received in this set.

Buxom Mini Full Bodied lipstick in Menace is 0.04 oz. The package is pretty sick man, really awesome. I have no problem with the size and I really like the color. The pigmentation is great and it isn't dry (so far). The color is like a berry color, but not quite dark. This color is something you should try if you want to venture into berry colored lipsticks. Not too dark and not too light.

Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment is 0.08 oz. Love love love this!!! I wish I gotten another one of these instead of the benefit balm LOL. I've used this a lot and i'm pretty with it. It's really moisturizing and I love how it is tinted. The formula is a bit heavy compared to a few chapsticks (but I guess this isn't like a chapstick?), but it definitely does not feel uncomfortable on and it keeps my lips moisturized so I don't mind. This item is honestly so pricey and I don't think i'll ever purchase it unless I buy it in a set or it comes in a set (which they have a few sets out right now).

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Moody is 0.06 oz. The size is not bad and the packaging is like any typical chubby stick lip tint. I'm a bit disappointed that the shade isn't as dark as I thought it was, but I do like the shade. I was hoping a more rich berry color, but this is more like a mauve-y color (??) I'm so bad at describing lol. I only did one swatch though, so hopefully it's a bit darker even though I don't think it's gonna be the color I want it to be. Nice product though don't get me wrong. Let's hope this product is good, because i'm an avid chubby stick lip tint user (does that even make sense um).

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Black Dahlia Lip Tar: Matte Test Tube is 0.08 oz. Whew you finally made it to the last item and probably one of the items I was most excited for, because I heard so many good things about it. People rave about the pigmentation of OCC lip tar and i'm letting you know right now that it did NOT disappoint. I squeezed literally smaller than a dime sized dot of the product and look at the pigmentation!! I didn't use the brush to spread the product that's why the swatch is a bit condensed in the middle, but trust me this is amazing. My only concern about this product is that it's really pigmented and you have to use a brush to apply it so it might be hard to apply and control especially since it's a dark color. Hopefully it doesn't smear or become a crazy mess when I apply. Other than those concerns this product has impressed me. Very happy that it comes with a brush that seems like it's pretty high quality. Stay tuned to find out if this becomes one of my favorite lip products ever ahhhh.

Whew, we are finally done with this "quick" review. You're probably thinking right now...elyse...this is short? why yes..yes it is..It's just that there were so many products to cover ahh. Anyways with that here is a short list of pro's and con's of this box.

PROS
- value is good
- size of products are good
- size is good for traveling
- wide variety of products
- "hottest" items of the year (quite positive)
- helps you try new products/trends w/o breaking bank
- you can wear these shades on a day to day bases, nothing too crazy (plus fall is coming and you can experiment with all the "darker" shades to see if you want to get any darker lipstick later on)

CONS
- benefit lip balm was pathetic in size
- might be a bit pricey for some people
- although has a quite a variety of shade there is a lot of similar in shade to each other

All in all I'm very happy I bought this and I think it was completely worth it, because i'm in love with the colors and a lot of the products included in this set I wanted to try, but wasn't ready to spend a lot of $$ on the bigger sizes. It's all up to you if you want to purchase this, but I hope this post helped.
